What size slow cooker for a singleton?

I just wondered whether anyone knew of a slow cooker which has 2 separate compartments? I love my sc and use it about 4 times a week, but my vegetarian daughter has just moved back, and I want to be able to cook for both of us at once0

Yeah, definitely check Freecycle/Gumtree/Pre-loved for a mini-oven or even a slow cooker (or an electric hob).
I'd only suggest you get the multicooker if you can swing the cost. You can always pick up something later to brown/bake in. Not all multi-cookers have the ability to be used as a browner or oven. You have to look at them. The T-Fal one at Argos looks like it is a rice cooker/slow cooker with no browning/oven function. I'd not suggest that as it is not going to increase your cooking options as you can cook rice and porridge in the microwave or buy instant
Honestly, if there's nothing near you and ordering isn't an option (I'd not waste the bus fare to Aldi), I'd go for a slow cooker alone and occasionally ask on Freecycle about the other options.
Good luck.
EDIT: I did some Googling about the Argos multicooker, and it looks like the instructions are vague, although on one forum a purchaser called Aldi's and they helped them with better verbal instructions. So, probably not the best purchase if you want simplicity. Sorry I complicated things by suggesting it.
However, if you keep your eye out at charity shops, freecycle, something with a browing/baking option might come up. I found a small mini/convection oven in a charity shop after a few months search. I ended up Freecycling it when I moved a year or two later, but if you live near a few charity shops, you might get lucky.0 -
If you only want 1.5 litre wilkinsons have their own brand one on for £10 currently on offer at £8.
It's more than adequate for a couple I find, especially if its just the meat you're cooking or making up a sauce.

AnnieO1234, thanks for the tip I have just ordered one from Wilkos for £8 (Wow £4 cheaper than the Argos one I was considering, even cheaper than the Argos value version, I hope it works). I selected the option for the item to be delivered to store so no delivery costs and just a 20 minute walk to get there.
Mollymoggs, I still want an electric multi-cooker (still thinking about the Aldi one as it's such good value), but when I'm debt-free and have more space. A multi-cooker will keep me debt-free.
You raise good points about the browning functions so I will research thoroughly when the time is right. I tried to log on to freecycle this morning to check if I had any responses, but have forgotten my username doh!
I'm the same as you I don't totally get the using a slow cooker to steam rice and make porridge, unless of course you don't have a mircowave.

I'm on my own and have that 3.5ltr Cookworks one which i'm happy with, normally i'd say get the big one, but if you're only in a bedsit it's not just somewhere to store the cooked food you need to think about, i suppose cupboard space is limited so perhaps the small one can be shut away easier.
To your other question about turkey being cheaper i've got loads of different dried beans and lentils and add a handful of each into any curries or casseroles.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

I bought the AldI multi cooker. Instructions are minimal, but luckily I have previous pressure cooker experience ( it is basically a low pressure pressure cooker)
However a design fault means if you take the lid off with your right hand and allow it to tilt, scalding hit water runs out iver your handPlease forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0 -
i'd say get one big enough that you could cook a whole chicken in with some veggies. As others have said, you can cook less in a bigger one.Cats don't have owners - they have staff!!DFW Long Hauler Supporter No 1500
