If you're married do you

Call your Mother in law and father in law mum and dad?

This is really an alien concept to me and I'm not sure it's part of the generation I'm part of? My aunty (by marriage) who is in her early 60's called my Nanna 'mum' and Granddad 'dad' however I don't call my FIL dad and I don't know any friends who do this either for their in laws.

Do you? Is it a thing of the past?

I never did but my ex-husband would call my mum "mum".

I don't and never would. Because they are not my Mum or Dad. I only have one of each. My Great Aunty's Daughter-in-Laws have all called her Mum and I find that odd.

My MIL2B is called by her first name by me. It just feel wrong to call her mum, given that mine died when I was 13, and I'm out of practice at calling anyone mum.

When I was married I never referred to my MIL and FIL as mum and dad. Always just called them by their first names. My ex did the same with my parents.

My PIL always said I was the daughter they had never had, so maybe they would have liked it.
The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.

I don't, but my dad has always called my mum's parents "mum and dad".

I call MIL and DH's stepmother by their names and I call FIL 'you daft sod.' I call DH's ex-in-laws by their names as well - I'm closer to them than to his parents.
