Doesn't 1st class have unlimited hot drinks & sandwiches, therefore you had plenty of refreshments.

You could of course lowered your standard of class into 2nd, or be like the rest of us and have to sit in the non-platform doorway on your suitcase.

I am wondering what the on board staff could have done to fix the air con?
I've never know on board staff to be able to fix it: why should they be able to?

This is not non- constructive: I've just wondering why that is deemed a sensible complaint in itself?

All I (ex RPI/M ex guard) could have ever done with HST air con was to switch it off completely (if it was blowing hot) and to contact 'control' to see if engineers could be sent to the train (if not passing a depot station: no chance).

If it's a case that staff did't make this fact clear then fair enough: although the ToC may have constrained them in their own policies.
