Why can't we just have one thread with links to the places to find free Kindle books?
Eg:
Here are all the free Kindle books:
http://uk.freereadfeed.com/
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Best-Sellers-Kindle-Store-eBooks/zgbs/digital-text/341689031/ref=zg_bs_fvp_p_f_341689031?_encoding=UTF8&tf=1
Here are free Kobo books:
http://www.kobobooks.com/free_ebooks
Here are some free Nook books:
http://uk.nook.com/search?category_id=10000001345
Etc Etc. Would that not be easier?My debt free diary | Post Office loan: £2131 1429.38 | Barclaycard: £4429 1988.12 | Paypal Credit £322.71 574.91 | Monzo Flex £169.03 |
Total £4151.44 | £2900.30 of £7051.74 paid off since diary started October 2024.0 -
I'm another no voter, as I think we'd just end up with pages and pages of books, most of which will no longer be free.
The best solution would be for people to click on the "expired" button if they notice a book's no longer free and then they could be quickly moved from the Freebies board.
Having said that, though, I do that constantly but nothing seems to happen. Would it be better to post a comment that the book's no longer free?0 -

everytime I notice someone has posted that a book is no longer free, I move it to the gone board. I think the expired button needs to pressed so many times before a post is deleted?I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Competitions Time, Shopping & Freebies boards, Employment, Jobseeking & Training boards If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. trouble is people post seperate amazon posts everyday so it would still end up being pages and pages of expired books even if they were all on one thread. Seems the votes are massively in favour of one thread though so looks like that will happen soon. I will keep this poll open for a few more days though so most people get to see it.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Competitions Time, Shopping & Freebies boards, Employment, Jobseeking & Training boards If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. I'm not keen on the books being mixed in as seperate listings with the other freebies but I can understand why having them on one thread could become a problem.
What about have them on one thread but then have a new thread for each month (or week if month is too many pages). Would that make it more managable?0 -
Here goes...
Why not let the all in one thread go ahead and run it like the coupon thread. Not keen but I would take that on as the OP and keep the first post updated with the current free books. However, I would not trawl to find them as I don't have a need for them. I would use the thread as a tool to update the first post and just click through every morning to make sure they were still working after I have done the newspaper thread.
That way they are all in one thread the current books are in the OP. Problem solved maybe?

I agree, it also gives you the option to hover over the title and read what the book is about before clicking the link, this way I only click through on books I want.£2021 in 2021 no.17 £1,093.20/£20210 -
I prefer to have them listed separately too. Much easier to see what is what by quickly hovering over a title.[FONT="][FONT="] Fighting the biggest battle of my life.

I was going to say YES (and I voted yes) because for someone who doesn't use e-readers it's a little annoying having to go through all the e-book freebies to find the freebies relevant to me...
...but I could see the e-book thread getting pretty messy, especially because inevitably people will want to reply to say 'thank you' etc. and it'll mean those wanting e-books will have to spend an age looking through all the posts to find the freebies...and have to check various links to find which ones are still valid, etc.
I'd rather continue to tolerate things as they are with separate posts, than have e-reader users put out even more with a single thread.0
