Thanks NSM,
Once my debt cleared, I used the same mindset to start saving for a deposit.
Have u thought about doing online surveys and using cashback sites when doing an online shop or when u renew home/car insurance?

Morning all!
Hey Hostie I use the money back sites for most things, had a fair bit out of them probably around £300 this year so not bad!
I dont really have time to do surveys but im a product reviewer and a mystery shopper so that brings in a few extra treats which is always nice.
Ive been stalking the boards for the past year or so, so have already picked up some great habits from you all.
Me and the OH were chatting last night and decided we are really going to push for DFD of Dec 14
We worked out we can comfortably pay around £6000 in a year so we need to find that extra £3000 some how but we are really going to push for it!
But on the flip side i really want us to have a family holiday abroad next year
We have gone with out this year and my LO is starting to get to the age where he will remember and i dont want him to miss out.
Do i stay or do i go ??!! :cool:DF JourneyCredit Card 1 £2000 Credit Card 2 £1200 (interest free)Store Card 1 [STRIKE]£1400[/STRIKE] £1174.26 Store Card 2 [STRIKE]£240[/STRIKE] £0 :j Store Card 3 [STRIKE] £170[/STRIKE] £0 :j Catalogue 1 [STRIKE]£2081 [/STRIKE]£0 :j Catalogue 2 [STRIKE]£1334.49[/STRIKE] £609.91Overdraft 1 £300 (interest free) Overdraft 2 £2000 Overdraft 3 £2100Total [STRIKE]£12825[/STRIKE] £9384.200 -
Go!! You have already went one year without, and sometimes you need to have something to look forward too! You can go on a MSE holiday, just as long as the holiday wont put you into more debt and you can still make your minimum payments then its not doing any harm x0

See that's what I was thinking, we will be paying for it with our hard earned cash, I won't be getting into any more debt to go.
We get 5 bonuses between us a year that could easily pay for it so think that's what we will aim for fingers crossed!DF JourneyCredit Card 1 £2000 Credit Card 2 £1200 (interest free)Store Card 1 [STRIKE]£1400[/STRIKE] £1174.26 Store Card 2 [STRIKE]£240[/STRIKE] £0 :j Store Card 3 [STRIKE] £170[/STRIKE] £0 :j Catalogue 1 [STRIKE]£2081 [/STRIKE]£0 :j Catalogue 2 [STRIKE]£1334.49[/STRIKE] £609.91Overdraft 1 £300 (interest free) Overdraft 2 £2000 Overdraft 3 £2100Total [STRIKE]£12825[/STRIKE] £9384.200 -
Shopping day today sent OH with a list budget was £40 he has just reported back that he spent £43 so not too bad!
The aim for the monthly (four weeks worth) is £160 so far we are on target thanks to a couple of helping hand coupons early this month.
So 1 weeks shopping left and £40 in the pot for it.
Hoping for a NSD today (weekly shop isn't included) target of 8 for the rest of AugustDF JourneyCredit Card 1 £2000 Credit Card 2 £1200 (interest free)Store Card 1 [STRIKE]£1400[/STRIKE] £1174.26 Store Card 2 [STRIKE]£240[/STRIKE] £0 :j Store Card 3 [STRIKE] £170[/STRIKE] £0 :j Catalogue 1 [STRIKE]£2081 [/STRIKE]£0 :j Catalogue 2 [STRIKE]£1334.49[/STRIKE] £609.91Overdraft 1 £300 (interest free) Overdraft 2 £2000 Overdraft 3 £2100Total [STRIKE]£12825[/STRIKE] £9384.200 -
£40-43, that's great! And does that feed you all for a week? Me and Mr Chef are rubbish at food shopping, we spent £81 on a weekly shop
I really need to improve on this I think. 0 -

Yes all week for all 3 of us. LO is at nursery most of the week so only has a light snack.
We make most things from scratch use the slow cooker loads or have things that are super quick in the week like chicken & rice, stir frys.
It's always cheaper during summer because I don't very often do a Sunday roast so don't need a joint of meat and all the added extras.
We are always out on weekends so do picnics
I couldn't imagine spending more than that now! We don't go without hubby has his chocolates and biscuits, LO always has a draw full of treats.
Some weekends if we fancy a treat tea ill spend another tenner on some nice bits.DF JourneyCredit Card 1 £2000 Credit Card 2 £1200 (interest free)Store Card 1 [STRIKE]£1400[/STRIKE] £1174.26 Store Card 2 [STRIKE]£240[/STRIKE] £0 :j Store Card 3 [STRIKE] £170[/STRIKE] £0 :j Catalogue 1 [STRIKE]£2081 [/STRIKE]£0 :j Catalogue 2 [STRIKE]£1334.49[/STRIKE] £609.91Overdraft 1 £300 (interest free) Overdraft 2 £2000 Overdraft 3 £2100Total [STRIKE]£12825[/STRIKE] £9384.200 -
Morning!
So my first NSD of my little challenge yesterday[STRIKE] 8 down [/STRIKE] 7 to go.
I didnt manage to ebay anything as spent the night in the gym grrr, need to crack on with that this weekend.
As well as having a sort out of my LO's toys and clothes and getting them on ebay.
Made a complaint to Next about a item I ordered in store and them giving me the wrong collection dates the result being a £20 gift card winging its way to me! :T
Feel a bit in limbo, 2 weeks till pay day so cant really do much until then but that doesnt mean ive stopped being MS :money:Think i need to have a dig throuhh the boards and find some challenges to keep me motivated.DF JourneyCredit Card 1 £2000 Credit Card 2 £1200 (interest free)Store Card 1 [STRIKE]£1400[/STRIKE] £1174.26 Store Card 2 [STRIKE]£240[/STRIKE] £0 :j Store Card 3 [STRIKE] £170[/STRIKE] £0 :j Catalogue 1 [STRIKE]£2081 [/STRIKE]£0 :j Catalogue 2 [STRIKE]£1334.49[/STRIKE] £609.91Overdraft 1 £300 (interest free) Overdraft 2 £2000 Overdraft 3 £2100Total [STRIKE]£12825[/STRIKE] £9384.200
