Advice needed: Sky+ & Sky in different rooms?

Hi, I know that Sky offer a multiroom feature which offers Sky TV in different rooms throughout the house for £10pm.
However, if I own 2 sky boxes (a normal Sky one and a Sky+ box) can I plug them into different TVs in different rooms and have Sky in each, without paying the multiroom subscription?
Or alternatively is there any way of watching different Sky channels in different rooms without the extra subscription?
Thanks in advance and sorry for sounding stupid if it's not possible: I don't know much about sky :embarasse

you need multiroom.
Each card will need to be activated by the box call.
I have a sky box and a sky + box in different rooms and you definately have to have the multiroom.
otherwise, you can have the same channel on 2 tvs.0 -
Ah OK thanks :beer:0

First of all Steve, this should have been posted in the Techie Section.
You can have 2 boxes without paying for multiroom, however you will only get the free channels on the 2nd box.;)0 -

You need to connect the box to the mini dish and get a freesat card from sky for £20.00
without the card you will only get the five channels you get from an arial0 -

That's not an up-to-date list. There seem to be a few more movie channels available now. I've invested £20 in a freesat card to get the other channels (the Channel 5s and Channel 4, Film 4 and Film 4 +1).In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

Are you sure, as far as I was aware, the card only opens CH 4...CH 5's (x 3) and Sky 3, unless things have changed recently..0 -
Well if each set top box has its feed from the lnb then it would be a matter of bringing the card to bed ( so to speak) . That said if you have premium chs then it is my belief that the card is paired to the box . I base this on my own experiance where we subscribed to the the 2 mixes and had another free to view card . It was often heard in my house the sound of " can we have the cartoon card upstairs tonight please " .
Hope this helpssomething missing0
