Opening a small woodworking/metalworking workshop, need tools as cheap(free?) as i possibly can get.
Chisels, files, planes, C/F clamps, allsorts...
As for machinery, at this moment i'm looking for a good/safe table saw and planer, maybe even a table router.
All this is not for business, just trying to return to my roots, sitting in the office made me too fat, need to change my hobbies... Back to modelling/carving i go
Running about chasing leads of retiring/retired people selling off their tools. With some success, but my leads are drying out quick... meh...
Last haul - old sealey 12 speed bench pillar drill for 20 quid... Nice and a bit rusty. Cleaned up well, no wobble/slop in chuck/pillar... Equivalent new would have cost me near 300 and on...
Old Black and Decker circular saw (PL40C) - 10quid and needed to make blade clamp flanges myself (bit of metal turning), as even B&D dont stock parts anymore... So there, its possible
I will consider absolutely anything - you got old rusty chisels with missing handles ? A bucket of old half broken drill bits ? Crusty old bench grinder with broken/split stones ? I'm interested...

Also, crowds is not my thing...
But its good to know something of this sort is created to keep people out of living rooms watching telly all day...

Oh, Not their own brand stuff...... Cheap as muck, just like the build quality :rotfl:0 -
Maybe a bit far for you but there is a place in Lisburn called restore. It's a charity and they stock building supplies, tools, furniture etc but often have some hand tools and electrical items. In general things are cheap, some of the building supplies are not so cheap but maybe worth giving them a call to see if they have what your looking
Most of the stuff on their facebook page is furniture but they have lots of other stock.
Very helpful staff. https://www.facebook.com/HabitatReStoreNI0 -
You could have a look on Gumtree, or there are often tools etc at local "general" auctions!0

B&Q is expensive for some things like nails, screws, some tools, but are very competitive for many items. I have bought several things there after shopping around and they have been the cheapest. Examples were Contiboard, plaster, paint, roof space hatch, wallpaper.....0
