I've been Money Tipped! Debt-free and Proud!
I recently had the same dilemma-found a job and had £0 to last me that 1st month. Had no friends in a position to help me, and as a single parent i also had no partner to help.

It was a nightmare TBH :( I was lucky enough to be able to lend £50 from my mother for the first weeks petrol, but it was a very tough month.

The JCP were no help at all. It was a case of "well done on getting a job, we can't get rid of you fast enough".
    They didn't care whatsoever.

Just phoned JCP and explained it all. Booked appointment for 2:15 they said bring proof of miles going and MPG of car and they give me all the money :)
Luckily for me just had car delivered so got all paperwork and got proof of postcodes/addresses to travel to so JC should be a breeze :)

Really would advice others in same situation to phone them before signing off as looks like they willing to assist. Btw they said i could only have help if i was on some Red/Green/Yellow box but i sign on green so fine for me.

Update: Went to JC and guy worked out all miles from mine to hotel and hotel to work for the time i'm there. also worked out MPG and such and give me £145 for fuel :)

got it in bank in the hour after seeing him. not a bad gesture from them.
  • I am glad you got it sorted. My bf needs 120 for medical to get an additi0onal licence and we cant get any help.
    Enjoy your new job.
