Anyone else had this feeling...

..I'm starting to feel quite disheartened about my lack/non existent winning streak!

I know it's luck of the draw and most people would take a break but I always think 'I could win that if I enter it so can't take a break!'

Hah is a viscous cycle, any tips from anyone else who's felt this way?:j:A

Are you only entering to win 'big' items? If so try a few smaller prize wins as it's those that keep me going.

Yes I enter for bigger items but I like entering for smaller prizes too.

    Good Luck x
    :j Started comping on 15/6/2013.

:T Well done to everyone else, hope you all carry on winning. You all do an amazing job. Thank you x

I didn't win anything for a few months and gave up for a little while, just came back now though!
It does start to get annoying when you're entering loads and not winning even little things and some people seem to be winning everything!

Ah well, at least entering comps gives me something to do when I'm bored :)

How long has your dry spell been - mine last was nearly 7 months before I got a win of any sort. I just think that at the moment unless you're one of the more [STRIKE]obsessive[/STRIKE] persistent compers, wins do seem to be scarcer.
I'd second the going for smaller prizes - at least then there's something to keep you motivated even if it's not worth much - like my mint kitkat!
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.
  • Sometimes it can be disheartening when you haven't won anything for a while. Especially when the post goes up at the end of the month asking what everyone has won, and you see people with loads and you've won nothing!! And I enter a fair few comps.

Hey ho. No point complaining. Life goes on and our day will come!

    Ohh I feel you!
The problem I have is that I dream of the prize / what i'd do, where i'd put it, who i'd give it to, and the main one .... how I'll spend it! :( It ends up disheartening me more!

I was suffering from a "dry patch" Then I had a win, albeit small and that ree boosted my energy. Don't worry, I've had bad months and excellent months. Just enter and the forget, that's my advice.;)

  • I would suggest entering effort comps, if you don't already, as about 1/4 of my wins come from them.

    Good luck x

  • I echo what custardcream1000 said, Effort comps are a great way of taking control of your 'comping luck' as it were.

I returned to comping in Feb this year after a break whilst I had my Son. Previously I did a mix of mainly 'enter your details' comps and a few effort comps. I had a few small wins, but found the time spent each evening entering them was becoming a bit of a chore for not much reward. I had a break, and a rethink, and recognised I'd had my better wins from effort comps, so when I started comping again that is what I have focused on.

I've been fortunate enough to be very lucky this year, 95% of the wins in my signature are from effort comps, either a recipe, picture, poem etc. I'd definitely say have a go! Whatever you decide, best of luck to you! Hope a lovely win comes your way soon!

I won nothing at all between April and July but have won 2 Goodread Books and a DVD already this month, so I guess it is swings and roundabouts.

Don't give up, I've lost count how many times people write on the forum that they've had a big win after winning nothing for ages. I guess we should stop focusing on the drought patches and tot up what we have won in the past!

    Hope you win soon
