GAME and Xbox Live Marketplace Points

I paid for an Xbox Live Marketplace points digital download on the GAME website a while ago, and I received an email with no code to redeem my points. I contacted GAME and they said they have been having trouble getting the codes from Microsoft. So I chose to get a refund instead of waiting around.

I've had another look on the website, and they are apparently still selling these points to people, knowing full well that no codes are sent out, because there are countless reviews for each product saying "where is my code?".

Surely GAME should be reported to someone for this? Trading Standards or someone maybe? They are just taking money knowing they cannot deliver the product.

I know Microsoft are getting rid of Xbox points soon. Maybe this is why they are not supplying codes? Even so, GAME should not be selling them.

Xbox Live Membership Codes and Xbox Points are causing a lot of confusion. I am selling Xbox Membership codes and points for a while but now I am facing a big trouble regarding region restriction which is not described clearly, leading me to take down all codes from the site. I think Game has the same problem with me. Microsoft and Xbox need to do something.

It sound like Microsoft have a complete mess of this. Microsoft said that they would continue to accept Xbox points for now, so I don't see where the problem lies.

At least you've taken your codes down until it is sorted out though. GAME are basically just selling emails to people with no Xbox points codes in them. Then the customer does a product review saying "where's my code", and GAME reply to the review saying "contact customer services". And you can't speak to anyone when you phone up any more, which is convenient.

I've used http://www.cdkeys.com/ a couple of times, I pay using Paypal so am protected under their refund policy in case it doesnt work, so far no issues.

GAME shouldnt be continuing to sell, what to do about it I dont know.

Yeah it's just I've got some GAME loyalty points, so I can't spend them anywhere else. I'll see if they sell the cards in-store instead.

They're phasing out the points in the very near future & replacing them with real currency - thus you'll probably find they'll lack them in stock.
