Hiya i've entered loads of competitions recently and yesturday i recieved an email saying i had won a nokia and to confirm they could send it to my address. So i figured it was one i had entered. I clicked on it and it took me to another page saying congrats it'll be sent to you however there was another answer the questions ofdo you have a mobile or landline (which i didn't answer) at the bottom of the page i says you get some dating website for £1 (which i don't want) and £35 a month after that. Do you think it is a legit comp? Do you think theyve signed me up to a dating website? many thanks

I would say any WEM which has a link to click isnt legit, although I admit i'm very paranoid. To me a WEM should just be a congratulations you have won X it will be delivered by Y etc, they should already have your details and a WEM is therefore more of a formality.:starmod: Looking for the lucky dust :starmod:

Which company was it from? Then check on here if you entered a competition from them.
Hope it is a genuine win xx0 -

Ah right that changes things then, from your Op I thought it was asking for an address, it's unlikely you have signed up for a dating site as you didn't give any details, sounds like it could be legit, what was the company name??

yes greedo 240 exactly as you said. If i delete the email and unsubscribe do you think theyll leave me alone? Have they signed me up for a dating site do you think?Jan 2015 GC £267/£260

A genuine wem usually adresses you by name and tells you the exact company and competition/prize you have won. Always be wary of anything that asks you to click to an external link to claim (although i had a sun lego wem thay i had to click a link but as it was a competition i entered i knew it was legit) if in doubt when you get a "wem" search for it on here before you reply. If you use the green tick and the thanks button you can soon see if it's a genuine comp you entered£2 Savers Club for 2022 #120

Oh dear definately not legit then
Sorry. I would unsubscribe, delete and block the email address, I don't think it's signed you up for anything, but i'd definately run a virus check to make sure you havent picked up any unwelcome visitors to your computer.

Dawn if ou have given out no card details don't worry. Just take it as a comping lesson. Also very wary of unsubscribe buttons on spammy emails. It just tells them the email address is active. Be very careful where ou are entering competitions from and watch very carefully for tickboxes opting you in/out of things£2 Savers Club for 2022 #120
