Digital Camera ~ which one?

I am looking to purchase a new digital camera as I am going to Vegaas in August and my camer is about 4 years old and 4.0 mega pixels
I have seen the Kodak camera advertised in the Currys sale which is 7.1 mega pixels and 3 x optical zoom for £99.99 and have also seen a Fuji on their site for £120 which is 9.0 mega pixels and 4 x optical zoom. Is it worth paying the extra £20 to get the etxra mega pixels and zoom or won't you see the difference between the two
I have included the specs if anyone can help me out on which one to choose
Kodak Easyshare C763 Digital Camera

$2 or so to the pound. Get the suggestions, call in to a Walmart or a photoshop and grab a bargain!0 -

There are better cameras for the money available.
Argos have a Fuji F20 that is a nice camera at good price, Kodaks do not have the best build quality.0 -
And remember it is not always about the mega pixels.
A decent lens is the first starting point. You can have as many mega pixels as you like but with a cheap bit of glass on the front the pictures will still be poor. There was a thread about a panasonic Lumix in PC world for £149. They seem to be sold out but Argos had it at the price. Looked at US sites and seem to be about $300 so same as there. The Lumix has a leica lens.We all evolve - get on with it0 -
I recently brought the samsung S830 from currys for £89.98 it's gone up by £10.00 but still a good price it's 8.1 million pixels.

Don't get seduced by the number of megapixels ! 6mp is more than enough. Ther are plenty of articles on the web explaining why it is not worth going for more.
I have just replaced a 6mp "point and shoot" camera with a 6mp SLR (in preference to 8 or 10mp alternatives). I am amazed by the improvement in picture quality (I thought the original camera was good !), due to better processing and a better lens.
Have a good trawl on the web, you will find masses of reviews. I would consider buying a camera in the States - but don't forget to declare it when you come back, will you !
