We are going back to basics and using the original form of smileys ... text representations.
So the character : immediately followed by a ) gives a

For some, you type in a character string e.g. : eek : (without the spaces) gives :eek:

Oh, and someone who decided on the filenames etc at MSE Towers doesn't seem to know that smiley is the original (preferred) spelling ...
