Problems with Valued Opinions - not paying up

Hello,

Apologies for this being a bit long winded and ranty - it's been a long day.

Up until now I have had excellent experiences with Valued Opinions, but at the moment I am having real problems with them.

On June 3, so just over 2 months ago, I met the £10 marker so decided to claim my usual voucher for Argos that would be posted out to me. There was no indication that anything that was different.

After 6 weeks I hadn't heard anything, which I thought was unusual as they are usual really quick. So I emailed them and got a response saying they no longer offered physical argos voucher and that they had emailed me an online code (which was never mentioned on their website when I claimed). I asked them when they sent it to which I got no response other than that if I checked their email address was in my 'safe' addresses they would send it again. I repeatedly checked my inbox, junk filter and deleted items - nothing in any of them.

This has been the general situation now for the last 5 weeks - I email them to say I haven't received it and give all the background information, they say they will send it to my home email address or work email address then nothing.

I know for the sake of £10 this probably seems a bit petty, but now on principal I am more determined to get it. I have tried ringing both the numbers on their website but both always go to voicemail and no one ever calls back.

Does anyone have any advice or experience of a similar situation? Like I said, I have always had excellent experiences with them before, but now I am fed up of going round and round in circles with them.

Thanks in advance for any advice, hope you don't think I am being really petty!

Becky

ask them to send the code in their next reply as they are the only Emails that are reaching you from them.

    Thank you,

I shall try that and keep you posted. I have just checked and I sent my last email to them 10 days ago and have had no response as of yet so will see what they do next.

Quick update - they have responded this morning asking me for an alternative email address (which I have sent to them for the 4th time this morning) and ignored my request to send the code within the response

I don't think so. Like you said it's the principle. There's nothing petty about working for an agreed amount of money and then being cheated. It doesn't matter whether it's £10 or 40p! It's not fair on principle. Well good luck !

Hopefully you will get your codes sent though. Must admit I tend to go for online codes or paypal if it is available as getting physical vouchers can be a pain. Once you have set up the flex code option in VO, they do come through within a couple of hours. I was a bit on tender hooks from GTM as they were sending cheques from the USA - must admit was a bit gobsmacked when six weeks later a cheque turned up for £30 as there was so many people complaining about non-payments. Thankfully now it comes via pay pal albeit 14 days after you requested payment. Clearly not heard of 'fast payments'...
