Hi, I have 2 endowments that are showing about a 50% loss on paying my mortgage 1. £42000 paying around £21000 2. extra one for improvements about a year later £4200 paying around £2340. All started in 1991 and as soon as I was told by Friends Provident (now FriendsLife) of the problem I took action using 2 of the many professional companies that were touting for business to look into the problem. Both came back saying we were due to nothing, but at that time the shortfall was MUCH less that now, I have a couple of years now before maturity and I have put matters nearly right by paying extra but I still feel cheated over the loss of about £20000 which noboby told me may happen at the time of starting the policies. Is it to late ? for me to do anything, the original firms went after the insuranace brokers (associated with our builders David Wilson)that sold me the products who had long gone out of business (how supprising) but never seemed to approach Friends Provident.

I don't think you can do anything, don't think of it as a loss, it was just never realised.
The market has changed, interest rates are not the 13% they were then either.0
