Good afternoon fellow scrimpers
I used this site once, ages ago. So Im back now and I intend to stay.
Let me tell you of my situation
I have finally got a job, after 3 years!! Hallelujah
I can finally start paying things myself, rather than living off my poor fiance who is working 12hr shifts to pay for everything.
I did a planner today, turns out, everything all bills including rent. (but not gas and electric) comes to £790 per month.
Now my missus earns 950 ish, so we have set a budget of not going above 920 per month, thats £30 a week for food, gas, electric and petrol.
Im happy to say its working.
Ive yet to recieve my 1st pay cheque, im doing 12 hours a week, so its 80ish quid a week. but 80 a week is nearly the rent paid!!
We both have a week off soon, so I had been saving with a local Credit union.. I took out a £140 loan so we can enjoy ourselves a little... despite us being early 20s, we never spend money on ourselves, or alcohol even!!!
for £140, ive a room booked in the lake district, followed by a nice meal and a few other days out in our county... also treating her to a little shoppin trip... replace some old clothes and retail therapy... perfect scrimping treat...
the best part is... that £140 only incurs a £5.08 interest charge!!! god bless credit unions!!!
Il post some more once i get paid and figure out what to do with the surplus cash!!
cheerio
