However there is lot's of contradiction on their FB page:

https://www.facebook.com/milliescookiesfanpage/posts/709667909048776
Basically they made a Fb post saying they had had trouble 'choosing' a winner but had finally chosen someone.
When questioned about it actually being a random draw they back tracked and said it was random. Then also in posts from last week they said the winner had already been notified...
Something very fishy here - now the 'random' photo they have chosen seems oh so very suited to their campaign as a photo from someone who has made a supreme photoshop effort. So many people must have entered it seems such a coincidence that such a pro picture came up in a 'random' draw (no disrespect to the entrant, they are most likely genuine and made a lot of effort...but that is not the point here i don't think)

what does everyone think here once you have read the fb posts and T&C?
Worth taking to ASA?
i don't care about the prize itself, it is the fact that i made an effort to find my nearest store and go and buy a product, only to enter a promotion that has not been run in good faith.

How can no purchase be necessary if In order to enter the Promotion, entrants are required to upload an image of them eating a Millie’s Cookies Red Velvet cupcake or cookie?0

It does seem a bit odd they said 'picking' a winner.
And it looks like they have 'chosen' more than one too. I mean... its a very fitting picture. Not probably what you would expect with a truely random draw!
It might be a case, if you can prove it wasn't picked at random. x
however, here it says "Our lucky winner will be chosen after the competition closes, and although you can vote for your favourite pics, this is just for fun and won't be taken into account when the winner is chosen. Good luck!!" so there it doesn't say picked at random!

I have to admit when this appeared on my facebook page tonight I did think it was an incredible coincidence that the picture suited the competition so well when it was supposed to be a randomly selected winner, so I am glad it is not just me who thinks it is a little suspicious.Tiptoe carefully lucky fairy dust has been sprinkled on this post.0

This one has really irked me and they continually skirt around the issue. Can anyone advise me who I can report this to to take it further?
Thanks0 -

It is a bit silly.
All they needed to do was keep a random Grand Prize winner, and then invent a Runner Up prize for the photo they wanted to use. Everybody happy.0 -
well i asked on there facebook page and was not answered lol they seem to be digging themselves in with the yes it was random, oh it was so difficult picking a winner blah blah !
i wouldnt mind i didnt enter but its just the principle if something is supposed to be random then thats how it should be otherwise people could have putmore effort inknowing ti was going to be judged !!my name is Kit and im addicted to competitions , the what if is my driving force

If they had not used the word 'decision' (which obviously implies a process of thought) they could have probably wormed their way out of it.
I don't enter their comps but I think it is great you are pursuing it
