Didnt bother looking for OH as he wouldnt touch it with a bargepole.
I always thought this about my OH until i bought him a christian dior shirt for £4!!! If you said to him oh i bought u a shirt and not told him where its from who's to know!!!Other women want a boob job. Honey the only silicone i'm interested in is on a 12 cup muffin tray, preferably shaped like little hearts0 -
I tend to buy all our undies, socks and things like that from Asda and the rest of our clothes always come from secondhand shops. I find it very difficult to justify paying full price for any garment and I've been doing it for so long now I can tell just by looking at some clothes what the make is!! Luckly there is quite a few in my area and pop in most days to have a quick scan. DD only ever wears Next stuff and you can pick them up sooo cheap. Best ever bargain, Brand new with tags black Boss suite for O/H, rrp £199 bought for £24.99. Can't complain at that!!Rebel No 220

Charity Shops are fantastic for clothes but another great place is the Jumble Sale.
Arrive early, armed with plenty of plastic bags & 10/20ps. Work out who is running the Jumble and decide if worth going ie Nursery School - great for kids clothes etc
Be prepared for a quick dash and grab anything that looks half decent. Then look at the label/sizes etc and throw back anything you dont want.
Yesterday I got
French Connection Top 20p
Next Suit £1
Mens Next Shirt (Brand New) 10p
Laura Ashley Dress 10p
Per Una Blouse 10p
Next Blouse 10p
M&S Blouse 10p
Mens Timberland Trousers 20p
Kids Monsoon Tshirt 10p
Boden Top 10p
Ellesse T-Shirt 10p
Bargains and all in perfect condition0 -
Kanzelson how can you find jumble sales.0

Jumble sales are usually listed in the upcomming events section of the freebie local newspapers. Must admit I haven't been to one in years but I'm on the lookout & will go when I find some locally on a date I can actually manage. Our local school doesn't have jumble sales but it does have babies & kids good-as-new sales every term, have picked up some fab stuff for Spud.
My best charity shop find has to be a pair of Navy Ralph Lauren jeans, still had the tags on and cost £1.50! Unfortuntely grew out of them & earlier this year faced the fact that I will never be a size 10 again & gave them back to the charity shop:rolleyes: I actually prefer shopping in chairty shops for trousers, I am a funny shape & trousers seem to fit me better if they have already been "broken in" by someone else first! Can't try them on at jumbles etc so charity shops suit me best.
My current winter coat is a charity shop find, I am certain it was brand new but no tags, only a New Look one but 80% wool & only £2!!!
I occasionaly buy shoes charity shops, I have a fab pair of Ellesse slip on trainers which I bought new for £1.50 but usually buy shoes new, also only new underwear & socks. I have no qualms wearing about chairty shop PJ's though. My fave things though are Gap hooded fleece jumpers! Our house is old & draughty & these are fab for keeping me warm but at £40 each I don't think so! I've found 3 now, 2 of them for 50p each & one for £1.50:DPost Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p
In England we have Mothering Sunday & Father Christmas, Mothers day & Santa Clause are American merchandising tricks:mad: Demonstrate pride in your heirtage by getting it right please people!0 -

...BUT...I really have a bit of a problem with the thought of secondhand shoes
This is a recent phenomena as I have worn "vintage" second hand shoes as a student but these days seeing those shoes makes me CRINGE!!!!!!!!!
I would never buy second hand shoes though I am not fussy about clothes.
I have never passed down shoes through the children with the exception of Wellingtons. As you wear shoes they mould themselves to your feet and each person's feet are different. It can't be good for your feet to put them in a pre-formed shoe.0 -
i will have to get photos of the fab items i bought couple weeks ago from a charity shop (well actually mum bought me them :P)
A gorgeous evening/going out top from etam in black white and red.. with a slightly oriental/rose patterny design - looks stunning on and OH loves it!! Couldnt believe i got it from a charity shop for £1!!!
Pair of bootcut black pants with a wide pinstripe from Wallis! Gorgeous heavy fabric, hang really well and look like new! Doubt they been worn much at all .. if ever! Fit like a dream too!! Make my bum look good according to mum and OH! :rotfl: They were £1 too!
They even look good together so a stunning outfit for £2!0
