This came up on the "expired etc thread" and it does seem daft when you think about it that the one part of the competitions time board people are likely to want to seach by its self they cannot or am I missing something obvious?

I'm probably in the minority but I often comp by prize or by site - for example, "win a car" or "itv.com" (ever the optimist). I get a list of mixed Game Overs and Competitions Times. I ignore the Game Overs and click on the Competitions Times because I'm used to doing that and getting live comps as a result. I can't rely on that recently and it's slowing me down. It may be just the way my brain works, but I can't read end dates as fast as I can read "Competitions Time"

Interesting, I don't enter that way but sometimes search like that to see if I have missed anything (mainly itv ones), I look at the dates as the list has compers chat and IWIWIW as well as game over all mixed in and sometimes you have to go back along way to catch all the active ones.

That type of search would be much quicker if the main competitions list was made a sub board of competitions time, perhaps just keeping the guideline stickies etc as competitions time. You could then just search the competitions time (Re-titled Competition listings perhaps?) sub board and while expired ones not yet moved to game over would still show up nothing from the other sub-boards would making it a much better search (timely expiry of comps as well would make it a complete win win but there would be far less to look through than now even if expireds remain for a few days.)

There is a really good chance that I am missing something here, cos I'm easily confused, but do you know that if you do an advanced search and remove the tick for searching on child forums that it will only show posts in the main board - i.e. it will not show those in GO, IWIWIW and so on.

Thanks, What an Idiot, I thought you could do that but it didn't work when I tried it yesterday ---That's because I went into the search near the top of competitions time which is the sub-boards so it still searched them with child unticked.

I search using itv.com - but it's showing just 2 itv.com comps since the start of August. That can't be right :(
Has the whole of itv gone on holiday this month ? Real Deal, The Cube etc?

In the advanced search check the date box.
    'Find posts from'
it's likely it says 'yesterday' or newer..

been caught out on that one too..
Saying that I've just done the search and although there are 7..only two for August.
I think some of the biggies were running for a couple of weeks.
Thanks to those that post the comps!!

Several of them are a month long (7 is right although 1 of them finished today), the main difference was the daily real deal replaced with a weekly secret traders

You do realize that with a title change like that everyone is coming in instead of "moving along" :D:p

I thought it might but you cannot delete a thread starter and at least people are not being misled in to reading it by the original title.

    That's interesting

Is snog for things we like or things we want?
