So I had an email saying ive won £100 from 'pounds to pocket' their cricket competition, they have announced me as a winner on FB
But to claim my cheque I have to email them a form and a copy of my birth cert, but if I wanted to mail it to them the address seems to be in Chicago!!! but on the release form it states the comp winner has to be UK (which I am) So do I just print the form...fill it out, sign it, and scan it and my birth cert and email to the address?? does that sound okay and safe to do..here a copy of the email x
Hi, Emmy,
Congratulations on being chosen as our £100 winner of Pounds to Pockets The Great Cricket Standoff Sweepstakes!
Please follow these next steps to officially accept and receive your prize:
-Read the attached winner notification letter release form and sweepstakes terms and conditions
-Complete and sign the release form (You must print and sign. No e-signatures.)
-Include a copy of a driving licence, passport, or birth certificate.
Then, please scan and email or fax the above documents back to me at the address provided in the notification letter.
You must do this by 15 August 2013, or you may forfeit your prize.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about redeeming your prize. Again, congratulations, and thank you for being a fan of Pounds to Pocket on Facebook!
Best regards,
Jennifer

Seems like a legit comp with the email and fb post, but I would never send a copy of my birth certificate, driving licence or passport to someone I didn't know so I would forgo the £100 if it were me.:starmod: Looking for the lucky dust :starmod:

I'm more wary of comps that want bank details.
They only want the docs as proof of age I imagine, if you black out in Microsoft paint any unique/important numbers/info so all they see is name/DOB/address I don't think it should be an issue.0 -

I thought they also had the location of birth, parents names / occupations etc?? Might just be me being over paranoid, but wouldn't send a stranger a copy.:starmod: Looking for the lucky dust :starmod:

Depends on how cheap your parents are....my mum left my dad in charge of my birth certificate, he came back with the cheapest option which doesn't even have their names on! I could belong to anyone! :rotfl:0 -

No probs - I was wary too at first so I checked out their facebook page to see if other winners had confirmed their winnings - which they had. I told them I didn't have a scanner so they said I could just take a photo of my birth cert, transfer it to my laptop and then email it to them - so I did. The cheque came a within 2 weeks and I put it towards a new dyson hoover!
Well done and enjoy your extra cash!:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0 -
