I just received a cal from 0845 3304800 initially she said she was calling from 'transcom' and asking me to confirm my address. I told her no as I have no idea who she is, she then tells me it's on behalf of Ebay. I have an outstanding issue and can I log on to my account, then she hung up

A quick google tells me this is Newmans debt collectors but I owe no one anything let alone ebay?! what are they playing at??

Have you checked ebay to make sure your account hasn't been hacked? Or to see if they've mixed you up with someone else?

First thing I did, all seems legit?? why is it so hard to contact Ebay?!

Try posting on the ebay bit of the forum - one of the regular ebayers will probably know how and when is a good time to get hold of a real sensible person

This could just be a fishing expedition by a bottom end debt collector. If they were sure it was your debt they would have stated what it was in a letter.

Stop talking to them on the phone and wait to see what comes through your letterbox.

If I get a call from a number I don't recognise I don't answer and put the number into google. If it is from a cold caller from a PPI or debt collecting company it normally comes up.

I keep getting e-mails saying there are fraudulents attempts on my pay pal account and someone from Germany is trying to change my password. Since I don't have a paypal account, these are obviously phishing expeditions, and I suspect what you have had is the same.

Same here. If i don't know the number, i don't answer. If it's important they leave a message!
