Artificial Flowers

Hi,

Im getting married this November and after much deliberation over flowers we decided on artificial ones. I spoke with a couple of florists first and saw some lovely ideas to match my theme but the prices were all quite high and whilst we've got a fairly decent overall budget we've got a little boy and I keep thinking of the things we could do with him instead of spending hundred pounds on flowers.

Anyway waffle over I started looking on eBay at used artificial bouquets and came across a lady who makes them to order, She's very helpful and knowledgable and I paid £52 delivered for my bouquet, 3 smaller bridesmaid bouquets and 5 button holes, they arrived yesterday and I couldn't be happier with them. I'll be happy to add pictures if anyone is interested.

Her eBay page is:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/Home-Furniture-DIY-/11700/i.html?_ipg=25&_from=&_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ssn=flowersfromyvonne

I contacted her with my colours and she had lots of ideas.

Hope this helps someone and happy planning :-)

I'll second that! I'm thinking of using artificial flowers too, as I love the idea of being able to keep my bouquet and everyone being able to keep the buttonholes as a little memento of the day. Her flowers look beautiful.

    Morning,

Sorry for the late reply, I've been trying to suss out how to attach pictures, I hope this link works:

We're having a black and white theme but the lady advised having ivory flowers to look more natural and I'm glad she did, I think they look great, I also asked about having some black flowers in my bouquet and she suggested no more than 5 or 6. I was happy to go with her suggestions.
One she'd ordered the flowers and started making them she sent me a pic of the bridal bouquet to check I was happy before she finalised it.

They're lovely, ive got foam roses too, and after the wedding i'm selling them all.! I put snowflake brooches on mine cos its a christmas wedding! And they are much lighter to carry. My centrepieces are foam as well, i bought them second hand and saved even more money.

Selling them on afterwards is a great idea, I won't have anywhere to store mine after the big day (spare room has already been taken over by all things wedding) and it would be a shame to pack them away. I agree they are very light.
I'm really so pleased with them, it was funny because after I'd ordered them and was waiting for them to arrive I started worrying, have I made a great saving or wasted £50+ pounds but once they'd arrived I was in instantly over the moon.

Can I just ask, what's everyone's opinions on foam flowers vs silk flowers?

Have to say at over 2 metres, it's pretty hard to tell.
Up close I prefer silk to foam, but I like the little fiddly flowers.
On a budget, I'd look hard at how they photo & how they resell.
If I wanted to keep them, and give them as favours, I think I'd go for silk.
    My tu'ppence worth...

It may just be me but I can't get to flowers when I open the eBay link, tried a seller search but that didn't work either, please can you post another link?
