I understand that any employer wishing to take an employee off the agency has to pay a fee to do so. I have been searching the internet as to see if there is any sort of legislation with regards to not paying a transfer fee.
I have read somewhere that after 14 weeks there doesn't have to be a fee involved if the employee is transferred from the agency to the company. Has anyone here had any experience with regards to this any help would be gratefully received.

Nope never heard of that as I was temp to perm at my last job and was a temp for 5 months and then taken on permanent and the agency submitted the invoice for me.I understand that any employer wishing to take an employee off the agency has to pay a fee to do so. Its not a case of transferring its the company taking you on full time.
The agency can not stop you from taking a perm job if offered but they can and will charge them for youWe’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Whether they charge can also depend on the contract the agency has with the client company. For example, a reducing percentage fee depending on the hours paid for as a temporary worker.
Like scooby, I'd heard that there was some legislation (in the last decade) which prevented a charge being made after a certain time - but I'm not sure. Will have a look if I can find anything.0 -

What I've found is that there was a consultation in early 2013 which included that the government wanted to ensure that employment businesses did not charge unreasonable transfer fees (from temp to perm) as this would restrict employment opportunities. Initial response to consultantation was published last month.
I think that is probably the status quo - consider Regulation 10 of The Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Businesses Regulations 2003

can anyone help please.
i sent me cv off to an employment agency for suitable positions
they came back saying that they would send my cv off to possible employers advising me that they had contact with these companies before.
they found a suitable position and sent my cv over the the company for an interview, bearing in mind that the agency did not tell the employer the fees or sent the company a contract to sign. i was offered the position thankfully but the agency called my new employer asking them for a fee.
the question is has my new employer got to pay the fee since they had no signed contract or verbal contract between both parties0 -
