In short, yes. If it comes via faster payments I believe that it can't be recalled, but via BACS then I think it can be recalled in the first 24 hours or so - check with your bank to be 100%.They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0

Perfectly safe, to avoid any stress send item day after money shows in your account- and make sure you check your account and do rely on any dodgy emails.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. There is another thing that you should watch out for, especially if what you are selling is a high value or scammable item.
Make sure that any payment that shows up in your account was a bank transfer payment, and not a cheque paid in by the buyer.
I've seen a couple of posts on these boards where someone was expecting a transfer payment and when they saw the money appear in their account they assumed that this had been done.
However, it was a cheque that had been paid in, and unlike a bank transfer, cheques can be cancelled and the funds taken back from your account up to 6 full working days from when the deposit was made.0 -

Can I ask if the opposite is safe? I want to buy an item on preloved, but seller is insisting on me to arrange courier and send a cheque. I'd rather pay via paypal (and have evidence of a transaction). Any advice?0

You will obviously have no buyer protection at all using a cheque and you cannot insist on a seller taking PayPal.
It is completely up to you whether the item is worth risking money on, if anything goes wrong you have no come back at all.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
