Default HELP BAILIFF ARRIVED AGAIN JACOBS please help
The Bailiff 20 mins ago just came up the path as my child saw him and posted and went back in his car and drove off!! He has posted a 24hr removal notice despite me sending the council/Councillors emails as well as an email to Jacobs today saying that I am a vulnerable person as i am single parent and also been sick for 10 weeks. i have written to say i only owe the CT £269 and jacobs say i owe £396.90 + COSTS.
I have asked jacobs to stop calling and asked the council to speak to them as they are intimidating me and also inflating the costs.

KNOW WITH THIS NEW LETTER what am i to do PLEASE HELP

Do you actually owe this money? If so what is the history of the debt.

You need to contact the bailiffs. Every visit will cost you more money. Have they bought the debt from the council?

I owe £269 for council tax i been paying baikiffs each month but was a few days late in june due to being ill. I did pay junes late but then paid julys on time then bailifs arived 2 days ago.

Has a bailiff ever been in your house? Have they levied on anything - a car or anything?
They can't break in unless they have already been in.
What item(s) have been levied on? are they sufficient to cover the debt?

With regards to costs there are set costs they can charge. You will owe the council tax, any laibility order costs -approx 89 pounds I think, plus if they have not been into your property or levied on a car then the maximum fees you can be charged by the bailiffs is 42.50 (or around that). You will probably want to write to the bailiffs and double check the fees as it is possible they have added illegal fees.

I have had some contact with Jacobs! Cant really say on here what I think of them. They are awful to deal with. They don't seem to do anyone a service apart from themelves, they just put up walls and force you into a corner by intimidating you. I am going to put my own thread on these with my problem but you have my sympathy. Have you tried speaking with the council to get them to take the debt back? I understand they can do this on occasion, we are going to try this just so we don't have to have any dealing with Jacobs certified bullies.
