im hoping to sell house and have approx 35k left to use as deposit on new house after e/a fees are paid. would i be allowed to use some of this money to pay soliciter fees £1500 and stamp duty £2000 so only then have £31500 as deposit looking at new house 200,000 max offer so i will still have between 16-20% deposit
or will bank frown on this and expect me to have soliciter fees and stamp duty already saved up?
also my car loan 232 p/month 18 payments left limits what i can borrow by 17000 on the halifax calculator will this fiqure change when they use there in branch computer when i go to see them? seems a big chunk of money for whats left on the loan

What you have suggested doing with your deposit is the norm so dont worry.
No the calculator is pretty accurate, some lenders might be prepared to offer you more, why limit yourself to just halifax?I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. If there is less that 12 months left on your car loan when you apply some lenders will discount it from their calculation.I am a Mortgage Broker
