hi
i've just finished exams and have a good 3 months holiday. I want to learn guitar over this time and just had a few questions if anyone could help out.
I'm a complete beginner so have no clue at all.
There's a guitar in Argos for £20 - I know its not best to buy the cheapest one but i really dont know whether i will just abandon the whole idea once im bored. So is it ok to buy this one?
Also, I'm an avg hieght 19yr old. What's the average size the guitar should be? I'm very confused about this. The argos one is 3/4 size, 36inch. Is that normal or will i find it too small?
Is it possible to learn just through websites....I have found a couple of good ones but if anyone has self-taught, I would appreciate any advice.
Are picks usually included? Any suggestions where I could get cheap ones apart from ebay?
Really appreciate your help. Thanks a ton

There's a nice electric start copy available from ebuyer £54 delivered. Possibly a tenner less with Google Checkout. Search over there for it. A £20 acoustic from Argos will be a bit poor.

Agree with Flimber - there's a starter one (Fender acoustic) on eBay for 80 quid and lots probably cheaper elsewhere
Keep an eye on freecycle.
You should get a full size one regardless
EDIT : Having got the basics (A, E, D, C), I was pretty much self taught after that. Maybe have half a dozen otr so lesson then practice like crazy.
PC World are doing a guitar gift box (2CD Roms and a book) for a tenner at the moment. They look quite good to learn from:dance:There's a real buzz about the neighbourhood :dance:0 -

The one I mentioned is an electric but they are arguably easier to play/more fun for a beginner. If there's a cash convertor/cash generator type shop near you have a look in there. Often good bargains to be had but watch for cracks and warps in the neck. Ebuyer is mostly good but some people have had problems with returns etc.
