Monthly or 4 weekly wage?

Hello, this is my first post so please be gentle with me!

Recently after many years of being paid weekly, my employer has decided to pay my wages monthly. Now I presume whatever I was paid weekly would be multiply by 4 weeks = total for the month. But the last 2 months I am paid more than I originally thought and I am not getting any joy with my employer on how this system work or a breakdown on my wage slip.
I get paid an houly rate of £6.19 for 22 hours per week (tax code 944L), total for 3 day week is £136.18, now time that by 4 weeks = £544.72, however my wage slips shows £590.11 !
Can anyone shed any light on this?, I even google up the wage calculator but still no answer on how it is done.

There are 12 months in the year, and 13 periods of 4 weeks. There are therefore more than 4 weeks in a month. Only 3 out of 4 februarys are ever 4 weeks long.

    136.18 x 52 /12 = £590.11

I'm not sure whether I'm more concerned that you couldn't do that or that your employer couldn't explain it!!!

If you get paid monthly there are not four weeks in a month.

You need to times your hourly rate by the hours you work and then by 52, as there are 52 weeks in a year.

Divide this figure by 12 and you will have your monthly salary.

If you think about it a month is not actually four weeks 4 weeks x 12 months = 48 weeks so you will notice those extra 4 weeks wages spread across your 12 yearly payments, I use to get paid every fortnight some months we got paid 3 times in that month :)
