And maybe pickup some eye tests? I'm short sighted but yet have little difficulty reading a name badge due to print size, are you sure you have the right prescription?

But if requirements for a job are listed as a mandatory requirement and a person can not meet those objectives, you should ask if the job is one you should take

The problem I get is I'm very slightly dyslexic, if I'm reading a page, I'm fine, if I'm reading a one off, like a name badge, I have to wait for the letters to settle down, so generally, I feel like I look like I'm staring at MOS's tits. :rotfl:

Though to be fair, when I'm bored and the scenery's good, I probably am anyway.
Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?
Get jobs in offices and wake up for the morning commute?

I'm doing my first merchandising job tomorrow and a little nervous, would anyone be kind enough to spare me a few minutes via PM so I can ask a couple of questions?! Please and thanks!

Yes I have the right prescription, I'm just very short sighted. It's not unusual :)

I wasn't aware of the strict brief re: names when I accepted it, because they only sent me the brief once I accepted it.

But it's no bother now, my niece came and it was fine. I will check with this particular company in future if they are going to insist on names and not take jobs because I won't always be allowed/able to take somebody with me. Plus my niece is bugging me for part of the fee now :rotfl::D

Hehe - just be careful because some briefs say you must not take someone with you.

TBH at the risk of being shot down in flames here - there are lots of MF jobs that get picked up where it ends up costing you personally, so perhaps it's those that are giving the positive responses to these surveys.

It depends on the persons circumstances, whether they think it is worthwhile. I'm just starting out and have registered with 5 different companies. MF have the easiest interface to use, they have more work in my area than any of the others and the reports so far have been straightforward. So it feels like a good place to start for me.

I'm baffled by the poll though. None of the answers really apply. I very rarely buy white goods. Usually it is when something breaks down and I need a replacement at short notice. If they gave me 10% off the best price I could find on the item I wanted, then it would make sense. Otherwise it probably wouldn't. As for the question on affordability. We couldn't afford not to have a washing machine!

Yeah I double, triple checked everything I had off them and nothing said I had to go alone. :)

Luckily there are very few assignments that will state no name no pay, obviously it's something that is regularly requested but most will factor in for partially obscured name badges or indeed if no name badge is worn, just get a really good description.

Oh yeah, I remember one visit I did where the sales assistant was wearing a scarf which kept covering the name badge. I laughed so hard inside while I tried to figure out her name. :-D

Other times I've given up because I would be suspiciously focused on a female sales assistants breast area.

I've just mentioned the reason for not getting the name and given a detailed description instead and never had problems due to that.
