I have just exchanged contracts on a 50% SO for 64k, good to know that if/when we buy the other 50% which will most likely take us over the SD threshold? But good to know that we will only pay 1% on the second half! :-)0 -
This system like many tax laws is unecessarily complex and unfair.
if I was buying at £205,000 on the open market today I would be pretty cheesed off to hear that it is possible to acquire a property at the same value and pay £1,095 rather than the £2,050 I was being stung for.

I totally agree, and suspect this will probably be tightened up by the chancellor to up the gov's coffers....
