Mortgage in the UK and living abroad soon

Hello,

I currently have an offset mortgage in the UK and I am moving soon to Asia for 3 years. I am planning to rent my property while abroad.

Is it possible to remain on a "normal" offset mortgage while abroad?

If I inform my lender that I am moving abroad, will they ask me to remortgage because I live and work abroad ?

Any recommendation ? Any advice ?

    You ask for consent to let and they tell you if they are prepared to grant it, for how long and on what terms.

    If the terms they offer are not acceptable research the option of a remortgage to a formal BTL Product/lender and the costs for that.
