Morrissons fruit going off after one day
Options
Both my mother and myself have bought a variety of fruit from Morrisons this summer and on 4 separate occasions the fruit has gone mouldy after 1 or 2 days.
Can anyone think of what the supermarket are doing to give their produce such a short shelf life ?

Could be many reasons, some I can think of are:
Not storing it correctly in the warehouse eg not being stored in the chilled warehouse.
The chilled warehouse/ shop floor chillers not working/ at right temperature.
Its been left out longer than should be before its either put onto the shelf or stored once its been delivered.
Id complain to be honest.0 -

It may not be the supermarket. Without knowing what fruit it is we would not have a clue.
Some fruit comes half way around the world. It is stored in gas to stop the bacteria growing and making it rot. Once you open the package the air gets in and it rots quickly. Often it starts rotting from the inside even though it looks perfect.
Other fruit has only traveled a few miles so should last a long time after purchase. In this case it may have been stored for a long time, either by the grower or the wholesaler, before being sold.0 -
The packages haven't even been opened.
I even found a rotting peach inside one of the boxes on display in the store.
It's the fifth time it's happened to me this summer and I am really quite miffed with them.
When I say the fruit goes off I mean "totally off".....mouldy, hairy, very disgusting !No Unapproved or Personal links in signatures please - FT30 -
I stopped buying fruit and veg in Morrison's a long time ago, I always found it poor quality and suffering a short shelf lifeWe have removed your signature - please contact the forum team if you are not sure why - Forum Team0

I agree that the shelf life of their fruit is poor, the vegetables seem ok though, we are getting milk from Morrison's that's going off before the date at the moment (and half empty shelves, but that's another story.)I have the simplest tastes. I am always satisfied with the best.

Stop buying for Morrison's!
I am not a fan of their F & V as it does not stay fresh for long, also a store I tend to avoid is Lidl as most of the time their F & V looks good but not food when you come to use/eat it.Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0
