Hi everyone,
Just wondering if you could help a FTB. So far in my processI had an AIP with Lloyds bank but in the end decided to go with Halifax andtake advantage of their better rates and paying our stamp duty.
We applied with Halifax on 6/7/13, chose our solicitor on11/7/13 and sent them the right paper work in line with instructing them to beour solicitor in the house buying process. At the same time I also informedthem that I didn’t want any searches carried out until we had our surveyresults back so I haven’t paid anything as of yet. Our survey was carried outyesterday (mortgage valuation and home buyer reports) I’m not too sure how longI will need to wait for both to come back or if they will come through by emailor post, any ideas?
I just feel like I’m sitting around and doing nothing at themoment and I was just wondering if anybody could advise me on what I should bedoing or could be chasing up or asking the solicitors if they have the rightdocuments (whatever they may be, please advise?)
I contacted my solicitor by email two weeks ago to let themknow the date of our survey and if they required any more information frommyself but I have had no reply, do you think I need to call them at this stage?
Thank you
Emma

The valuer's report will be electronically uploaded to Halifax and if in order and all other docs ok, case should be offered within 48 hours.
Homebuyer's will be mailed directly to you by Colleys.I am a mortgage broker. You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Our homebuyers report was actually undertaken by countrywidebecause Colliers was too busy, will they do the same?
Is there anything that I could be doing with the solicitorsat the moment i.e. checking they have everything they need from me and from thevendor?
Thank you for your help.

The only things the solicitor will have so far are the draft contract from the vendor's solicitor and your instructions. You could pay the search fees ready to instruct them to do the searches as soon as the mortgage is offered.
Countrywide will send you the HomeBuyer's report, just as Colleys would have done.I am a mortgage broker.
