Sending the deposit

Hi,
I have a rather frustrating solicitor.
I should be completing this week. Solicitor has said he would send me papers for me to sign and said he needed to send an updated price.
I phoned twice today and all he sent was his bank details- absolutely charming.
As I want to complete, please could anyone advise (given the solicitor is as useful as a chocolate teapot in helping)?
(apologies for being over dramatic)

- He mentioned sending him the deposit. Is this right?
- I bank with nationwide and have my mortgage coming with them (FTB). It is just my solicitor and theirs involved- no estate agent.
- Solicitor sent me a quote at the very start of the process. It made no mention of additional fees. Do I just send him this amount or wait to argue if he tries to charge more?
(apologies for being over dramatic)

No harm in sending the deposit plus the fees quoted at the outset. So the funds are in place.
Unless there's a complex issue to resolve there shouldn't be additional fees to pay.
Any money you remit is held in a clients account not the solicitors. So there's no risk attached.
Buying and selling houses is stressful. Try to stay calm. You'll get there in the end.0 -
This is a matter you can only resolve with your solicitor and you need to take it up with him.
You are involved in a legal process and acting on views and opinions from posters on here who do not know the facts will not help you.
Tell your solicitor why you find his responses unsatisfactory, and agree what is going to be the process going forward.I am a Mortgage Broker
