After trying more well known brands for removing both cat and dog urine odours without success.., I tried Simple Solution Stain and Odour Remover after reading rave reviews on Amazon. I could get a 4L bottle for £18.99 (although I am sure I bought a smaller size initially).

Well all I can say is it worked. You can follow instructions and apply solution manually to the stained area (cover with damp cloth for a few hours, reapply if necessary but its not normally needed unless really resistant cat odour) or I just put a cupful in my shampooer tank along with water and normal shampoo amounts. Odour gone. I also keep a spray bottle handy filled with a cupful of the solution and the rest water for a quick spray if needed.

Now I've found I can buy it for £13.94 with free delivery from http://www.pet-supermarket.co.uk/Products/CN31006/simple-solutions-stain-andamp-odour-remover-for-dogs

I ordered late Friday evening, it arrived today, Monday morning. So very impressed.

Official MoneySavingExpert insert: We've not heard back from Pet Supermarket, so aren't sure whether this odour remover is on special offer or if it's this price all the time. We'll let you know once we've heard back. The website says Super Saver Delivery (5-7 days) is always free.

We've compared prices and this is the cheapest we’ve found this product, however, it’s always worth doing a price comparison before buying. Thanks to deannatrois for sharing this offer.

Another thumbs up from me...our kitten had a few accidents initially and this stuff is the bees knees...wouldn't be without it. Super price too.

Thank you. My cat has just used my settee as a toilet and I was fretting over getting the smell out.

There is a 5% off code on HUKD also.

You realise all you need is an enzyme cleaner? I usually just use a bit of biological washing liquid mixed with water, leave it on for half an hour then wash it out. The enzymes breakdown the widdle, which is all these expensive things are doing.

Have a look at the Pets at Home website (as a Newbie, I'm not allowed to do a link), but they are doing
2 x 12kg Arden Grange £56 for the Adult Lamb/Chicken, and Puppy (I think) and £58 for the Senior. Their price for one bag is well over £30..........free delivery to home, too.

Not true, cat urine contains crystals that aren't broken down by washing powder, it will temporarily take the smell away but bet your bottom dollar it comes back, further to that you can actually make it worse by scrubbing it as the crystals become airborne and spread to a larger area. These specially designed formulas are the only way to permanently rid the stench.
