The older you are, the more the risk/chances of twins. But also the more likely you are to have a baby with birth defects.

IDENTICAL twins are created by pure chance, but some people have a genetic predisposition towards multiple births. (Twins run in families)

Having fertility treatment increases chances too - but that isn't 'natural'.
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.

Why would you want to have twins? One baby is more than wonderful enough.

Midwife told my friend that there was a higher chance of twins if you live near a pylon. They have no other twins in the family and she was on the pill when she concieved (they think a course of antibiotics caused the pregnancy)! Midwife said she had read this somewhere?? Have you tried the TAMBA website? They may have some ideas, even if they are only old wives tales.

some of my family and friends come from Dorset or have visited, they say that there is something in the water that makes you more likely to have twins. This happened to a couple i know who visited and had no twins in either or the families but had twins. Might be worth a try.

Funny you say that, the month before we conceived twins we visited family in Dorset and drank from the spring near the Cerne Abbas Giant :-)

I do have to point out that whilst having twins is wonderful and exciting it can come with difficulties. Ours were born at 29 weeks and whilst they are perfect with no problems the six weeks of daily journeys to the neo-natal unit was very stressful and if things had gone wrong, well life could have been very difficult for us now. That said the medical care that our twins received was really good, medical science has made huge strides in early baby care in recent years.

Also as said before just one child is a lot of work. We were mad (or maybe clever) enough to have another baby within 18 months and on days when the twins are with Nanna and Grandpa it really does strike home how much easier just one small baby is in comparison to twins :-)

As through this life you travel,
    you meet some funny men
Some rob you with a six-gun,
and some with a fountain pen
