Handfasting ceremony in Cheshire?

Options
Does anyone know anyone that does hand fasting ceremonies in Cheshire or has had it done themselves and can recommend someone. More so in the form of a humanist as opposed to a full on Pagan one.

Also is it true that there are some ways which you can get it done and for it to be legal ie who you get it done by as I know in England it is not legal on it's own like it is in Scotland.

Has anyone done it anywhere and can share their memories and what they enjoyed and found particulary resonated with them and why they decided to do this.

To be legally married in England you'd need to have a registrar conduct the legal part of the service at approved premises. One way round is to have a registry office ceremony to be legally married and then the humanist ceremony to which you could invite your friends/family and have as your main ceremony.
I guess one theoretical possibility is to find a venue which is aproved for marraige ceremonies and which would also allow you to hold the humanist handfasting as well. You might want to speak to the registrars first; you haven't said if you're East or West Cheshire, but we married with West and they were the loveliest most relaxed people you could meet; if any district was to be able to help I'd bet they could. They can advise of the legalities and may even know of venues that could help

HI sorry I thought i'd replied back to this!! I'm terrible for checking things!

Yes I know it's not legal unless it's in certain places in Scotland. i'm a bit silly really as if i'd have thought about doing it a little but further North to where I am i'd be in Scotland lol! PLus loads of my family live in Scotland so would be easier for them to get there.

We had already decided we'd have two ceremonies the Handfasting one and then the legal bit back in London where we live this is so more people can attend and my best friend is away travelling for the first one and I want her to be the "witness" for me!!

I just wanted to see if anyone knew of anyone who conducts them or if people asked their friends and family to etc.
