Does anyone else play this awesome game?

I have had it on my computer for months but only got around to playing when someone here mentioned it, you basically have a region map the size of a normal map of BF3 or COD x100 and run around with snipers, light infantry, engineers or exo-skeleton augmented robots and blast the living crap out of everything that moves.

The best thing is though is that it is free, of course you can pay some money to get different styles of uniform or speeded up exp gain but the gamemakers decided that everyone should be able to get the same weapons (though it may take free players longer) rather than those paying having a huge advantage.

It is about skill rather than wallet size.

Anyone fancy a game sometime? :)

Did I mention you do not have to pay a penny? :)

Anyways, if you see someone called GinaTorres running around on the Ceres server come say hi :)

I've played this game, when it came out - it had massive hype. No one believed that a game this massive would be free 2 play!

Although it has its down-side. It's a pay 2 win game, and it also requires you to spend hours on end to actually unlock something new.. :/

This is the point though, while it is free to play and you can unlock every weapon and vehicle available to paying members it takes time; payers get no advantages when it comes to blowing peoples heads from one end of the mountains to the other and that is how it should be.

If there were super weapons that only payers could get then there would be even more complaints since then free players cannot compete and I have seen it in many premium games. Free players are simply considered cannon fodder in most games and only there as easy kills so you can get your kill count high.

A 'member' might have an advantage with speedy experience gain but they still have to be skilled players, you can have all the boosts you want, but if you still die every five seconds it is not going to do you any good.

This is a list of 'kills' and how much experience goes with each.

To help boost your experience as a freeplayer try to position yourself in a location that is swarming with enemies where you are at a severe disadvantage as you get bonuses for this, destroy vehicles if you can get close enough and if someone keeps killing you then specifically try to kill them as you get a streak stop bonus. Also 'spot' every enemy you can, if you have the option of putting down ammo or fixing tanks in battle or healing then do that. One of the best ways to gain experience is to capture facilities so figure out when your side has the advantage and time your play sessions to coincide :D

I played the original incarnation of this game for 4 or so years with the same outfit all the way through doing "spec ops" but the new version I think is designed to appeal to more of the fire and forget people....it felt like it had lost its strategy element that was so prevalent in the first one, taking out an interlink station so you could sneak into a different base without being seen etc etc..not to mention the reliance on a very fast internet connection and a huge PC as well...it was very close but not quite for me...also having to download 5GB to install then a few GB with each update was just too much.

Sounds like a promising game (anything that's free is deserving of a look at least). I'll download it and give it a go once my pc has been fixed and sent back to me.
