PayDayUK loan scam

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone would be able to give me some information in a situation I am in. I took out a loan from PayDayUk and when I went to make the payment everything was fine...however then I noticed I have some money missing , I then checked my bank statement and I had two payments come out of the exact amount within the same minute on my bank statement one to paydayuk. and payday have never been on or had anything to do with payday before.

I printed of my bank statements and the websites homepages to prove that they are two separate websites and took them to my bank manager , he spoke to retail disputes and they classed it as fraud and I was credited the money that was taken he also called the number that was on the bank statement and it went to a individuals mobile number.

A few weeks passed then I realised I had money taken from me again for the same amount from retail disputes and they sent a letter saying that they have proof that pay day a authorised transaction ...then I realised that all the details on there and amounts was the same as paydayuk the letter was sent out by Mem consumer finance website has PaydayUK all over it. Unfortunately I don't think NatWest investigation team actually tried very hard and I have looked over previous transactions with paydayuk and my bank statement it says it was paid in by payday and since they are both so similar I didn't originally notice on my statement as I had no problems.

Now I am in this situation where I didn't receive a letter from the bank that they sent and they have closed the investigation taking back the money that was given me leaving me overdrawn and more fees for me ! I have phoned paydayuk and asked is payday.co.uk a sister company or something but they just act like robots and repeat we are paydayuk.

This has been going on for some time now and I just do not know what to do or who to take this issue to as Natwest do not help the just pass me around on the phone to the wrong department several times and I am finding this very distressing as I am currently out of work after being made redundant and I cant afford all these fees. Also the way money has been taken out my account so freely is worrying me and the fact a sum of money the exact same amount within the same minute NatWest didn't pick up on.

I have a time line of transactions that happened I have left a few out on the previous text as I have resolved some issues.

3rd June - 2x 227.41 was taken from my account , only supposed to be 1.

5th June - Natwest credited the money to me of 227.41 as they believed it was fraud.

11th June - Paydayuk & payday.co.uk both paid in 227.41 into my account however wasn't sure why paydayuk did as they investigation wasn't against them. ( I called paydayuk and they could give me no information on this)

9th July - Retail disputes took back there money which is understandable as I was paid back by payday.co.uk

26th July - 227.41 was taken out of my account

30th July - 227.41 was taken out my account again.

From my point of view all transactions to this point is correct EXCEPT the last one as this then puts me in the situation of my money being taken that shouldn't be back to square one.

This has left my severely overdrawn and stressed as I am out of work and all retail disputes could say is we didn't receive a letter so we closed the investigation. I am unsure why they wouldn't try contact me as this is a matter of fraud instead of just closing this investigation after there lack of investigation. Each day I am being charged £6 being overdrawn and my bank account has now gone to collections resulting in it affecting my credit score.

This is a very long message I know but I just wanted to put the information out there so anyone can help me I would appreciate it so so much. I have been advised to go citizen advice and talk them through the situation and see what they can do but I want to try other ways of getting information.

Once again I HIGHLY appreciate any advice some one can take the time to spare.

Thank you .

Make a complaint to the financial ombudsman as it has now been eight weeks since you initially complained to Natwest.

Natwest should not only have refunded the money but also stopped any further transactions from leaving your account, given that you told them you'd had nothing to do with payday.co.uk.
    What will your verse be?

  • hi as the person below said i would speak to the ombusmen and also speak to citizens advice and see what help they can give you.

it seems your details have been put in a brokers website -

PaydayUK is a trading name of MEM Consumer Finance Ltd - a subsidiary of MEM Capital Ltd and are a payday loan company

    But

payday.co.uk are not a loan lender they are a broker it says in their terms and conditions on their site -
