Has anyone ever got a mortgage with good Experian but bad Equifax report?

My Experian credit file is solid, with no negative factors...Equifax has some defaults from when I was a student, but they should drop off in 1 year, as it already has been 5 yrs (one default is incorrect, mistaken identity, getting it removed)..mainly mobile phone stuff, small amounts £15
so has anyone ever managed to secure a mortgage in this situation?
I have a big deposit 60k, and annual income is 50k
will putting a guaranteur down help things?

A guarantor is aimed at covering a shortfall - not overcoming bad credit so that wont really help.
Go and see a broker, assuming the deposit equates to atleast 15% deposit i would be pretty confident assuming everything else fits you can get a mortgage.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Some lenders use only Experian, some only Equifax and a couple only Call Credit.
A few use both, or all three.
You need to concentrate your activity around the lenders who are most likely to lend to you. However, you should not lie and say you have not had credit issues, if you have.I am a mortgage broker. Lenders will score you themselves. So any CRA score has no bearing as to the outcome of your application.0

Vote 2 for experienced broker.
Just because you cannot see the issues on Experian (on their worthless scores tell you otherwise) it does not mean they are on there.
Sometimes linked addresses, historic addresses (when you have had numerous) or linked persons can be within and visible to lenders.
I am not trying to un-nerve you, rather just raise awareness not as simple as using x lender who rely upon Experian.
I expect a decent broker should find you a decent solution given the variables declared.

As someone has said lenders use different credit reference agencies. Here is a link that may help you:
