Hi just wondering if anyone knows the process of extra borrowing for home improvements.moved house a month ago and took my wool which mortgage with me. We have had an unexpected expense and inked also like to do a few DIY jobs as well as purchase one new furniture . I have an appointment for someone to call back and was wondering if the application will be as lengthy as when I applied or the mortgage, looking to borrow about £6000 so not a huge amount

This all depends on your LTV and affordability?
You ported your existing mortgage deal ( did you borrow more?)
All you can do is wait and see what the person from Woolwich tells you0 -
I have 70000 mortgage on property 145000. This is less than what I owed on my previous house. In hindsight I should have ported more than 70000 than I could have had the home improvement money at the same low rate. Too late now .0
