mortguage confusion please help

Hi,
Im quite confused with the way the wonderful world of mortguages works and i could really use some help before i loose the plot.
I recently had a successful application with nation wide and after all checks / surveys were successful i received offer vaid for 6 months.
The problem came when the chain collapsed 5 months in , and i found another property 15k cheaper and 3k of personal debt less. My broker advised me that all i needed to do was , pay for another survey to get the offer swapped over..
After a few days i contacted nationwide and asked if i could make the payment as i was keen on moving in asap only to be told my application had been declined based on my credit check . I was absolutley shocked i have never missed a payment for anything in 15 years , ive had personal loans etc i earn the money needed and my rating with experia and equifax is 'excellent'.
A day later nationwide contacted my broker and apologised for the mistake and blamed it on a change in product code and i was told to wait 24-48hrs for tje department to call me for survey payment again. On day three i called nationwide only to be told that its been declined again .
Completely flabbergasted and discusted my broker has made a fresh application purely due to the rate, and i was accepted straight away(Dip). The app is now with underwriting should i move on? Does any have any idea why this may have happened ?
Im so confused, stressed and worried.
Any words of wisdom welcomed .
