in Cutting tax
Basically, I'm moving into a new house and renting out my old house but have no idea how to sort out the tax side of things. Can someone tell me how to work out how much tax i'll have to pay please?
The property was given a revamp before being let out, with new carpets, bathroom suite, doors etc. Do I pay tax on this?
How much do I have to earn each year before I get put in the higher tax bracket?
Should I just call an accountant and let them do it all???

My mind not only wanders .......... sometimes it leaves completely

No offence, but you sounds like you have no idea so get an accountant - peace of mind for a couple of hundred quid a year isn't bad. The plus side of an accountant is he will know what sort of things you can claim for so you can make sure your getting all the tax reliefs you should be plus if you get in a mess with the Revenue it's difficult to sort out so it's worth not getting in that position in the first place. The 'Toni' is as in Collette not Swiss
