Pps parking fine

Just returned from 10 day cycling trip to Belgium via P&O Ferries Hull. Left car in long stay car park run by PPS at cost of £70. On returning to car ticket stuck on window which said parked across 2 bays so fine of £50 rising to £100 if not paid in 14 days which in reality is now 5 days as it was issued day after I left for Belgium.
Vehicle was parked right in the corner of compound and printed on ground in faded letters "keep clear at all times" so assume it must have been for access in the dim and distant past but now is completely fenced off. Bays were marked (also faded where I parked). Spoke to P&O employee who happened to be passing and he said car park had been half empty for weeks anyway so it was just a rip off.
I have always been honest and would pay if I thought was wrong.
Should I pay or appeal or just ignore ticket ???
Comments please !!

Appeal of course (not implying who was driving nor talking about the car or whether it was even over a bay line). Same sort of challenge as you will read on almost every thread on page 1, 2 or 3 of the forum (and more).

It's holiday time so less regulars here, I have just got back and am astonished at the number of new threads I missed where people seem not to have just read some threads and realised what to do. The entire forum repeats this information every single day...'challenge the ticket not naming the driver'!

Start by just reading threads on page 1 of the parking forum (not the sticky threads) and look at any advice already given about how to appeal and win at POPLA. Don't know what POPLA is (second stage appeal)? Read more threads. We can help you once you get your POPLA code and we can help you win, but you do need to read up on it, that's what the forum is all about and ALL CASES are the same (except Council tickets and small claims threads).
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
