Freeindex.co.uk - people can leave ratings on there... although i would take some with a pinch of salt as it could be friends/family leaving reviews.

I would suggest asking for recommendations. Depending on your area, I'm sure there are people (on here as well as friends/family etc) who could recommend someone.
