Peel Centre Stockport, Parking Penalty Charges

Options
Have received a parking charge notice even though I purchased a ticket and displayed this on the dash. Their tickets aren't adhesive. I was gobsmacked. No photographic evidence provided other than a photo showing the car entering and exiting within the paid for parking time. I'm furious. I am very careful to always check that the ticket is clearly displayed as I once had a parking ticket fall from the windscreen onto the floor of the car in a local authority car park and was issued with a penalty notice which was left on the car. No notice was left on the car so this is like a bolt out of the blue. Had a notice been left, I could have challenged this on the day and kept hold of the parking ticket. I know I can appeal and ask for their evidence but having read a number of threads on here I dont think it will do much good. Does anyone know what the current situation is regarding ignoring the notice?

Here is just one of the threads on this car park. There are others.

I just got back from hols last week and have added a post to that linked thread.

Teatrip simply has to do the same as that OP except that, in addition, he/she can ask Excel to check their records for the payment matching the car reg, of course. Make sure no challenge you write, names nor implies the driver! So no 'I purchased a ticket and I placed it on the dashboard'.

Has to be more like: 'The driver purchased a ticket and it was placed on the dashboard. As I believe you don't make your flimsy P&D tickets adhesive it's hardly surprising in a busy car park if some of these tiny tickets have the potential to slip down or twist over in the sun - if this is what happened it is not the driver's fault and if you'd issued a windscreen PCN at the time, the driver could have saved the P&D ticket and resolved the matter. However, I am sure Excel will have a record from your machines that this car reg was indeed entered into your system with a payment at the time so I expect you to check this and for the ticket to be cancelled. If you reject, I require my POPLA code with your rejection letter, in accordance with your industry Code of Practice.'

What you DO NOT DO is then send the same sort of appeal to POPLA! Those appeals are more technical and detailed, as you will see in my post I added to the other recent Peel Centre thread. Read them and show us your POPLA appeal draft if you get a POPLA code (or tell us if Excel actually cancel it!).

You would have known what to do if you hadn't wasted time reading a 3 year old thread and simply read the first page of threads from today...IGNORE has not been the advice for about 4 months!
