Postcard Entries

Hi.
I have decided to do a few postal entries - I have got some of those plain post cards
The thing is I was just wondering how is the best way to lay them out - Which side to put their address and then my details...
Do I put there address the same side as the stamp?
I just don't want them all coming back to me by using my entry address as a delivery address so any help would be great. :rotfl:

I always put the the companies address on the same side of the stamp, and then turn the postcard vertically, and put my details. I always put TO, and FROM in bold, and underline as well. I've only had the odd one sent back, and my father who used to work for royal mail said there was nothing wrong with them so be prepared for the odd one to come back.0

to address on the stamp side
put 2 diagonal lines though your own address
makes it clear its the from address
Its what we did with cards that came back to our office for delivery ot the sender.0 -

thanks for the tip about putting double line through own address. I have received a few of my postcards redelivered to me, so now put TO/FROM clearly on them:j BIG THANKS TO ALL COMP POSTERS, MUCH APPRECIATED :j0 -
Hi
Another tip I was given to stop postcards being returned to me was to put my phone number or answer to a question under my postcode.
It seems to have helped, I get fewer returns now.:T

I just wondered? is it an idea to use those little tiny address labels you get (usually free with raffle related charities things in the post) as they are small maybe they will pay attention to the bigger address?0

the labels are great but still put phone number and or I am over 18 and sig underneath.
I don't do so many now but a lot less get returned to me with this system63 mortgage payments to go.

Well I tried some of the great suggestions. However I got one back in the post today! I cannot understand why I even made sure I put my postcode then country and UK so that my postcode was not on the last line. I also had it at an angle and put FROM in massive letters.
I clearly stated TO on the stamp side of the card then wrote the address clearly with stamp. I got the card back...it had been postaged stamped on the wrong side so at least my stamp is unmarked and useable again but just kind of annoying. Not sure what more I can do and hope that they do not all get returned. Thanks for all your help and suggestions.Ask.. Believe.. Receive..

I've had a couple of those. If there's time before the closing date I just chuck it back in the post - tho' I'll now use custardy's tip.Short-n-Sweet wrote: »I got the card back...it had been postaged stamped on the wrong side so at least my stamp is unmarked and useable again but just kind of annoying. One of those came back a second time after the closing date - so I downloaded form P58 from the Royal Mail website and sent that and the card off with a polite complaint. I got a letter of apology and a book of stamps. Can't guarantee that always works but it only costs a bit of time and a spare envelope.I need to think of something new here...0 -
Hi I also suffered the same problems but phoned Royal Mail and they sent me stamps too. A bit sickening when it means you have missed the comp but the stamps came in handy. Good Luck.Keep on trying it will be your turn soon x0
