Where can I get a loan please?
I'm in the situation whereby I need to borrow about £3000 to finance my divorce legal fees. Unfortunately, I was in a debt management plan for a while during which time I incurred a C.C.J which although satisfied is still on my credit history for at least a couple more years. Any suggestions please where I might get a loan but not at extortionate rates of interest? Many thanks for any help you might give.

Why do you need to pay £3k for a divorce?
Mine cost nothing as I did it myself."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -
Unfortunately, I need the money because my ex is not "playing ball" and so I need to go to Court to get her to do so.0

See if there is a local Law Centre in your area, where you can get free legal advice before you go off and sign up with a solicitor. £3k is one hell of a lot of money to pay for a freedom dash!"There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. I already have a solicitor but their hands are tied in what they can do as whatever is required costs money which they know I currently don't have. My ex knows this and is taking advantage of the situation. I appreciate that £3000 is a lot of money but, without going into details on this forum, it will be money well-spent, honestly!0

How do you know 3k will be enough? It's not a lot in terms of divorce related legal fees. What will you do if the money runs half way through the process?0 -
I have specific courses of action which I would like to undertake so that I know that £3000 plus what I've already saved should be enough, but your point is a fair and valid one and I sincerely appreciate you raising it.0

OK, back to your OP. TBH I think you will struggle to get a loan, but if you are currently responsible with your cash and have been for a while, plus have enough spare income to make payments, then try your own bank (in person), as they will be able to see evidence of this.
If they say no. I think you're stuck, sorry.0
