Loan now or next month?
I have a problem and I'm not sure what the best solution is - help!
First - a little background:
My credit rating is below average, but not terrible, and I now have little in the way of debt. I do hold a credit card / debit cards etc, which are well within limits.
Callcredit think I'm a wonderfull risk, Equifax & Experian give me the not-so-good scores.
I am currently a tenant, but will be moving into a new house (which I'm buying) next week.
I've just discovered that important (and expensive) parts of my car are going to start falling off soon - the costs of repair will be much more than the car is worth.
I was planning to buy a new car in about a year, but it's a bit more urgent now!
Next - the question
Basically, I know that credit ratings are affected by moving house and/or being a home owner, but I'm not sure to what extent - is it better for me to apply for a car loan whilst I'm a tenant (I've lived in this house for about 3 years), or do I wait until I'm a home owner and apply then?
I will not consider a secured loan - it must be unsecured!
Also, any suggestions regarding which lenders to apply with would be appreciated.
thanks
Andy
