I wish I'd had the time to write a coherent essay because that was one of the most interesting comps I'd seen. Gender issues are increasingly relevant, like with the recent Twitter/Austen debacle, and I'm glad the UN is making a concerted effort to be more inclusive. I could have written a whole bunch of stuff, but ack, my essay skills are a bit rusty these days! What is it you wrote about, if you don't mind me asking?

I bought something in a supermarket in Morocco just because it had a competition on the packaging. My husband just rolled his eyes

My kids & hubby know me by now when shopping purplebutterfly! If I put something in the trolley they always check to see if it has a win on!

I am also terrible at the supermarket. I have three full tubs of utterly butterly in my fridge and I am sure I will buy another

Seriously interesting stuff - especially as written by a custard cream I would love to read a similar 'elevator pitch' on what you would've wanted to say about religious oppression - though not wanting to start any religious rows here.

I think the closest I get to this is that sometimes I enter caption comps for prizes that I can't use, sell or give away. And before the flame gun is pointed at me, If I won I would ask them to give the prize to another entrant. I just really enjoy doing caption comps.

I think you may be as barmy as me. You are more than welcome to enter caption competitions on my behalf as my efforts are pretty dire!

I am afraid to saythat for August it will be sucking up to the Daily Star in an attempt to win one of the iphones they are giving away. Can only hope I win early on as it will kill me being sickly sweet to that pile of tat for a month :rotfl:
